Thank you for visiting the website of Scope & Hook, a
ministry to outdoor sportsmen created by Greg EdmondsGreg is an avid sportsman, outdoorsman and conservationist who resides in central Virginia with his wife and two children. Greg is a founding member of both Scope & Hook and the Outdoor Sportsman’s Ministry at Cool Spring Church. When not in a deer stand, a duck blind, or pursuing a wary gobbler, you can find Greg fishing rivers, lakes, ponds and bays throughout the mid-Atlantic region. Having completed degrees and research in Biology, Fisheries and Environmental Science, Greg shares a deep knowledge for respecting, enhancing and enjoying our natural resources, as well as a passion for connecting with those who share in his love for the outdoors and for Jesus Christ. Greg is a certified National Archery in the Schools (NASP) Basic Archery Instructor and a volunteer Hunter Education Instructor.

Mission
Scope & Hook strives to reach and develop outdoor sportsmen into fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ, and to engage and equip them to honor God and reach others through their outdoor passions.

About Scope & Hook
At the surface level, 'Scope & Hook' speaks to Greg's undying passions for hunting, fishing and being in the outdoors. However, this naming convention digs deeper spiritually. The term 'scope', as in the zoom lens on a rifle used to define one's focus on a distant target, has its origins in the Greek term 'skopos', which is defined as the distant mark looked at, the goal or end one has in view; the "end-marker" of a foot-race; the final destination in the faith-life. In these terms, 'scope' refers to Greg's primary focus in connecting with Jesus Christ, and with guiding fellow outdoorsmen to do the same through shared passions for hunting, fishing and the outdoors. And as our focus becomes more on Christ and less on ourselves, 'hook' can be understood to be the act of committing to and being drawn closer to God as we open our hearts to Him.
